Description
What makes this guitar special: An exceptionally clean Jaguar finished in a very rare Firemist Gold, and aside from a few areas on the body that were touched up from some chips, the guitar is all original. The Firemist Gold looks spectacular & has hardly aged - the guitar looks practically brand new! A superb example of a '60s Custom Color Jaguar, professionally inspected by the experts at Cream City Music & set up by our own master luthier, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition for being 50 years old. As previously mentioned, there are three areas on the body where the finish was touched up due to some chipping: the bass-side waist; lower bout bass-side where the player's right arm would rest; and on the bottom near the strap button. The touch ups were done fairly well but don't blend perfectly with the original finish. In addition to that there are various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some mild weather checking. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Beautifully rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Matching finish on the headstock & the decals are in great shape with no bits missing. F-tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 15 MAY 66 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in original Firemist Gold finish. Tremolo tailpiece with original trem arm. Adjustable bridge with original cover. The Fender Mute mechanism works great, but the pad has hardened over time. 3-ply white pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 8.7 oz.
Pickups: Original Jaguar single coils with staggered poles. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: The case is period correct, but is a bit longer than typical Jaguar cases & does not appear to be original to the guitar. A vintage black leather strap is included with the guitar.
