Description

What makes this guitar special: A lightweight cherry beauty, with a pair of snarling P90’s and full, resonant tone. The medium profile mahogany neck affords nearly effortless maneuverability, while the nicely variegated rosewood fingerboard is soft and comfortable, with a slightly more narrow nut width than its contemporaries for easy bends and lead lines. As with all our guitars, it has been professionally setup and inspected by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: This one’s been played, but still has a lot of life left in it! There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, as well as some areas of finish wear, and some touched up holes on the front of the body from the original tremolo tailpiece. There is a very old professionally done partial headstock repair, some finish wear along the edges of the binding in the upper register, and a repaired crack in the body on the edge of the guitar behind the input jack. The guitar has been oversprayed at some point in the past as well, more than likely to minimize the impact these issues might have on playability.

Body: Solid mahogany body in cherry finish with 5-ply black pickguard and wraparound stopbar tailpiece.

Weight: 6 lb, 14.2 oz

Neck: Medium profile mahogany neck with black side dots and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Rosewood fingerboard is in pretty good shape for its age, and while there is some visible pitting (most notably in the first position) and a few dents and scuffs, there isn’t any wear that hinders playability. Tuners have been replaced with Grovers, and the extra holes were filled and then finished over. Black headstock overlay with mother-of-pearl Gibson logo. 1 9/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight and notes ring out clearly up and down the length of the fingerboard.

Electronics: Original P90 single coil pickups (Neck-9.28K ohms, Bridge-8.34K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume. Pots date to ’66 and all electronics are in fully functioning condition.

Case: Unoriginal, newer Gibson hard shell case included.
