Description

What makes this guitar special:  100% original & recently acquired from the original owner who kept the guitar in immaculate condition - it looks practically brand new & a real museum piece!  And even better, it comes with an early '60s Ess & Ess hardshell case - a super upgrade!  This Hummingbird is absolutely gorgeous to look at & produces a warm, rich tone with a beautiful resonance - such a joy to play.  Professionally inspected by the experts at Cream City Music & set up by our own master luthier.

Cosmetic Condition:  Magnificent condition for its age - very clean with very little wear.  Various minor nicks, dents & dings; mild surface scratches & weather checking.

Neck:  Slender profile mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots.  Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays.  Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear.  Gold Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 9/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.

Body:  Square shoulder dreadnought in sunburst finish.  Solid spruce top with 7-ply binding.  Rosewood bridge with pearloid dot inlays & cream end pins.  Rosewood adjustable saddle.  Screwed down tortoise pickguard with painted hummingbird motif in excellent condition - the picture is very clean with no fading.  There is one very tiny surface chip in the pickguard near the soundhole.  Solid mahogany back & sides with 5-ply binding.  The cherry finish in the back & sides is still very vibrant & the mahogany is stunning.  Guitar weighs 4 lbs 7.5 oz.  No pickup was ever added.

Case:  Early 1960's Ess Ess hardshell case with some light wear & tear.  The case is of course for an earlier Hummingbird, but is a definite upgrade to the guitar, adding considerable value.
