Cosmetic Condition: Magnificent condition for its age - very clean with very little wear. Various minor nicks, dents & dings; mild surface scratches & weather checking.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Gold Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in sunburst finish. Solid spruce top with 7-ply binding. Rosewood bridge with pearloid dot inlays & cream end pins. Rosewood adjustable saddle. Screwed down tortoise pickguard with painted hummingbird motif in excellent condition - the picture is very clean with no fading. There is one very tiny surface chip in the pickguard near the soundhole. Solid mahogany back & sides with 5-ply binding. The cherry finish in the back & sides is still very vibrant & the mahogany is stunning. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 7.5 oz. No pickup was ever added.
Case: Early 1960's Ess Ess hardshell case with some light wear & tear. The case is of course for an earlier Hummingbird, but is a definite upgrade to the guitar, adding considerable value.
