Description

What makes this guitar special: A player’s grade beauty with an unbeatable vibe, drenched in mojo and dripping with vintage aesthetic. This one has been well-loved, and played in wonderfully. Originally finished in ebony, the color has faded with time into a really cool chocolate brown throughout much of the guitar. In fact, the only real evidence that this guitar was once black is the finish on the back of the headstock, and the strip beneath the bridge. Despite a lifetime of use, this one is in great playing shape with no cracks in the binding, or structural problems. The original frets even have some life left in them! It’s tough to find a guitar with a look better than this one-so do yourself a favor and snap this one up while you can. Rest assured, with a pro setup from Cream City Music included, it’ll be ready to impress you right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Just the way we like ‘em, with all kinds of real-deal wear. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, chips, scuffs, and areas of finish wear, with visible weather checking throughout. The back sports some hearty buckle rash, and the finish has worn off the front where the arm rests, along with most of the back of the neck. The pickguard came to us broken, but was professionally glued back in place by our luthier. One of the set screws for the pickguard bracket is unoriginal, as is one of the tone knobs. Frets are original and sport wear consistent with age. Tuners are replacement Grover Rotomatics. Despite all the wear, this one is nearly original, with a fantastic vibe and gorgeous patina.

Body: Bound maple body with center block and dual f-holes in faded ebony finish. Original trapeze tailpiece and compensated bridge with individually adjustable saddles and compensated rosewood base. Original pickguard is cracked in a few places, but the largest portion has been reglued.

Weight: 8 lb, 3 oz

Neck: Medium profile mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in great shape with no visible pitting. Frets show wear, but still have life in them. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with gold Guild logo and scepter. Replacement Grover tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.

Electronics: Original DeArmond humbuckers (Neck-6.87k ohms, Bridge-6.76k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.

Case: Original hard shell case included. Exterior is in rough shape and most of the tolex is missing. The original handle has been replaced with a chain.
