Description
Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & minor finish blemishes. The cherry finish is very strong & the guitar has a wonderful resonant tone to it. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original open-back strip tuners in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: SG-style solid mahogany body with 5-ply black pickguard. The arm for the tremolo tailpiece is missing so we set up the guitar with the strings wrapped around the compensated bridge instead. This actually makes the guitar much more playable. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 10 oz.
Pickups: Original P-90 single coils Bridge - 8.69K ohms; Neck - 8.71K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '65. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Playability / Sound: Nice, low action with a smooth, comfortable neck. Killer vintage tone with nice dynamics & sustain!
Case: Vintage Gibson faux alligator chipboard case.
