Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a ridiculously cool vintage Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird and it sounds incredible. The pickups are rich with plenty of output, the neck profile is exceptionally comfortable and the body is loud and snappy thanks to its thinner chambered design. There are a few changed parts but they actually make for better playability if anything. This guitar is so unique our store actually had a run of custom-made limited edition Jets made based off of this one. They sold out before we knew it so we ordered yet another batch with some small changes. From looks to playability and sound, this guitar simply has it all!
Condition: Very good shape overall. This guitar has its fair share of play wear but it gives the guitar an awesome and authentic vintage look! There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the guitar along with consistent weather checking and heavy buckle rash on the back. Some of the nicks and dings are fairly large. There are some areas of finish that have worn through to the bare wood from play wear. The binding shows some binding rot which is very common for a vintage Gretsch. A lot of the binding is crumbling off (see photos). The control knobs and switch tips, pickup rings, bridge and output jack are unoriginal. The bridge is actually a vintage Gibson model that helps with intonation. The original control knobs, pickup rings and output jack are included in the case. The original pickguard and mounting bracket are also included but the pickguard is cracked. Everything else is original and in great working shape! The fingerboard and frets are in great shape overall with only moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is very comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly.
