Description
A vintage 1969 Gretsch 6170 Pro Bass tube combo amp in player-grade condition. This Valco-made amplifier is the Gretsch-branded version of the legendary Supro Thunderbolt--widely known for its association with early Led Zepplin recordings. The Pro Bass features the same transformers, 1x15 speaker arrangement, and cathode-biased 6L6 output stage. The freshly-installed Eminence Legend speaker is a big improvement over the CTS speaker these amps were originally equipped with--offering more volume and a tighter bottom end. This amp screams! It has a great clean tone that turns into a superb overdrive as you work your way up the volume knob; this one will be a winner for stage or studio work. This amplifier has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
