Description
What makes this guitar special: A fabulous player's grade Strat from the '70s with a cool vintage vibe & killer tone! The original finish was stripped & the pickups have been swapped out with Eric Johnson cloth wire single coils. Despite its less than original appearance, the guitar is a marvelous player with great feel. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music so she's ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe with typical play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear. The original finish was stripped off the body quite some time ago & there's black shielding paint inside the cavity routes. At one point there was a four-bolt neck on the body as evidenced by the filled holes & ghosting mark left behind. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with 'skunk stripe' & black dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Oversize headstock with bullet truss rod & double string trees. Original F-tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. It's difficult to read the neck date because the ink has faded quite a bit over the years, but it looks like it could date to '72, but we're not 100% sure.
Body: Contoured, solid ash body in natural finish. Tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles & trem arm included. 3-ply white pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 7.7 oz.
Pickups: The original pickups were removed & replaced with newer Fender Eric Johnson single coil Strat pickups with the EJ logo underneath them. Cloth wire with sweet, vintage-style tones. Master volume & tone controls with 5-way selector switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The two outside clasps do not really close & lock in very well, but the middle one works fine.
