Description

What makes this guitar special:  A dynamite player with superb feel & exquisite tone.  The original cherry finish was stripped off some time ago, but remnants of it can be seen in the control cavity.  It looks as though a previous owner attempted to attach a Bigsby tremolo as evidenced by the filled holes in the top.  The original Guild humbuckers sound fantastic, however, and the phase switch adds another texture to the sonic palette.  Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so she's ready to go straight out of the case!

Cosmetic Condition:  Great shape overall with typical play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear.  The original cherry finish has been stripped off leaving a more natural satin mahogany.  There are five small holes in the top near the bridge & tailpiece that have been filled.  One volume knob is unoriginal as are the Gibson Deluxe tuners.  Overall the guitar has a cool look with a nice true vintage vibe.

Neck:  Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots.  Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays.  Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them.  Mother of pearl Guild & Chesterfield headstock inlays.  Vintage Gibson Deluxe "double ring" tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 5/8" nut width; 24 2/3" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.

Body:  Contoured, solid mahogany body.  Stop tailpiece & adjustable bridge with roller saddles.  Clear plexi pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but the Guild logo has worn off.  Guitar weighs 7 lbs 2.4 oz.

Pickups:  Original Guild USA humbuckers with black bezels.  Bridge - 7.64K ohms; Neck - 7.55K ohms.  Dual volume & tone controls with Guild skirted knobs, however, the neck pickup volume knob is unoriginal.  3-way toggle switch & 2-way mini toggle phase switch.  Pots are original & at least one can be read, which dates to '70.  All electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case:  Original hardshell case included.
