Description

Condition: This SG has an authentic vintage look, feel and sound! Scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking throughout the finish. There are some heavier scratches on the upper bass side horn and lower treble side bout. There is an area where the lacquer has worn off on the lower bass side bout from normal play wear. Plenty of pick scratches on the fingerboard and some scratches and very light buckle rash on the back. There are some dings on the back of the neck and some of the lacquer has worn away. This actually gives the neck a very comfortable feel. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with heavier play wear in the lower registers. The neck is very playable now but may require fret work in the future. The neck is very straight with a very slight warp around the 12th fret. The truss rod functions fine. The pots date to 1973 and the tailpiece, bridge, control knobs, pickguard, frets, finish and tuners are all original. The pickups are Gibson humbuckers with epoxy on the bottom and some touch-up solder work has been done. This guitar plays beautifully!

Body: Solid contoured mahogany body in walnut finish. Gibson tailpiece, high-mass bridge with six individual saddles, speed control knobs and a 5-ply black pickguard.

Neck: Slender mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, a volute and a 1 9/16” nut. Gibson tuners, 24 ¾” scale length.

Pickups/Electronics: vintage Gibson humbuckers in the neck and bridge with dual volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.

Neck: 5.31K Ohms.

Bridge: 7.61K Ohms.

Weight: 7lbs, 7.5oz.

Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding vintage SG with a well-played look and feel. The humbuckers provide plenty of output but clean up exceptionally well with the guitars volume controls. The slender mahogany neck is extremely comfortable and ideal for players who prefer a very slim neck profile.

Case: Includes unoriginal hardshell case.
