Description
What makes this guitar special: A super rad first year Les Paul 55 with an ultra cool vintage vibe. The guitar is basically a Special with a pair of killer sounding P-90 single coils. Super smooth neck coupled with a very resonant mahogany body makes for a perfect rockin' combination. The unoriginal Leo Quan Baddass bridge is a nice upgrade & allows for more fine tuning intonation. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear which lends credence to its authentic vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, light buckle rash & some finish wear. The number 2 is pressed into the back of the headstock just above the serial number, indicating the guitar was a factory second. Exactly why is impossible to say, but there are no issues with the guitar structurally or electronically. Overall it has a great look to it with a wonderful patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Five of the Gibson Deluxe tuners are original; the G tuner is a replacement, but looks similar to the others. It's a single lip instead of a double, but they are all in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Single cutaway, solid mahogany body in sunburst finish. The original wrap-around bridge was replaced with a Leo Quan Badass bridge with adjustable saddles. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 13.9 oz.
Pickups: Original Gibson P-90 single coils with black bezels. Bridge - 7.82K ohms; Neck - 7.77K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '74 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
