Description
What makes this guitar special: An absolute gem, recently acquired from the original owner and in unbelievably clean condition. 100% original. Beautifully appointed from head to toe with numerous hand-inlaid designs and seething with premium craftsmanship. It isn’t often you get your hands on a Norlin-era piece as special as this one, much less in such great shape. It’s been professionally inspected by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Outstanding condition for its age, with only light signs of usage throughout. There are typical signs of playwear including scratches, dents, dings, and nicks, along with some pickwear on the guard. The back of the guitar shows one small area of discoloration, likely from resting on a strap in the case some time ago. For its age, this piece is a 9/10.
Body: Double bound maple body in sunburst finish with arched top and back. Multi-line 7-ply purfling and bound tortoise pickguard. Bound oval soundhole. Compensated ebony bridge with floating ebony base and dual pearloid inlays. Trapeze tailpiece with rosewood back and “Howard Roberts” plaque.

Neck: C-shaped 3-piece maple neck with black side dots and pearl slotted rectangle inlays. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show only light wear with a ton of life left in them. Bound headstock with abalone Gibson logo and tree of life inlays. Chrome sealed Gibson tuners work great. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod is fully functional.
Electronics: Floating neck humbucker (4.32k ohms) and black speed knobs with pointed indicators, 1x volume, 2x tone.
