Description

What makes this guitar special: If you’re a vintage collector with a taste for originality, keep it moving…this one is all player, all function, and all tone, with no regard for its vintage origin. The right pieces are there - the original body providing killer resonance, and the neck providing a sleek, comfortable feel. The electronics have been worked over, and then re-worked over, leaving some er…“interesting” remnants. It’s as vibey as they come, with a great vintage look and stellar playability. No bones about it-this one will have you picking away for hours on end. It’s been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to impress you.

Cosmetic condition: Various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scuffs, and scratches, with visible buckle rash, areas of weather checking, additional holes drilled through the body under the neck plate, and some finish wear. Under the hood, she’s a bit more complicated…there’s a pretty gnarly rout near the bridge from where there was likely a humbucker at some point, and a big rout on the back of the guitar that probably housed some form of active electronics circuitry. Electronically, it’s just about all replacement – changed pots, changed wiring, and changed pickups (unbranded, but cloth wired). Bridge and saddles have been swapped for contemporaries, and then there’s the headstock, which looks to have sustained some heat/fire exposure that doesn’t appear to have hit any of the rest of the guitar. There are holes drilled from swapped tuners, the fingerboard edges are good and sweatstained all the way up and down, and the neck has been refretted. There are no cracks, breaks, or flaws that hinder playability in any way at all.

Body: Solid contoured ash body in sunburst finish with replacement 5-ply tortoise pickguard and unoriginal chrome Fender bridge and saddles (hardtail).

Weight: 8 lb, 2.2 oz

Neck: 3-bolt C-shaped maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, and 25 1/2" scale length. Maple fingerboard show some wear and sweatstains, but no real pitting. Fingerboard has been refretted with medium jumbos that have a ton of life left in them. Original F-stamped tuners function perfectly. Bullet truss rod is fully functional. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the fingerboard.

Electronics: Triple single coils (Neck-6.81K ohms, Middle-6.21K ohms, Bridge-3.98K ohms) with 5-way pickup selector switch and white skirted knobs, 2x tone, 1x volume.

Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included.
