Cosmetic Condition: Wonderful shape for being 40 years old & showing signs of very little play wear. The body binding has aged over the years with lots of cracks & bits that have flaked off. The rest of the guitar is pretty clean with various surface scratches & some tarnish on the gold hardware. Overall the guitar looks great & displays & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged 3-ply binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl & abalone block inlays. George Benson's name is in the 21st fret inlay. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. 3-ply bound headstock with mother of pearl inlay & George Benson signature on the truss rod cover. Ibanez Pat Pend tuners with pearloid buttons in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width, double layered with brass; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single-cutaway, hollow body with bound F-holes. GB-10 brass tailpiece with tortoise inlays. Compensated ebony bridge with mother of pearl inlays. There are screw holes on either side of the bridge & into the top. Spruce top with 3-ply binding; maple sides & back also with 3-ply binding. 5-ply bound tortoise pickguard; gold & brass hardware. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11.5 oz.
Electronics: Ibanez GB floating mini humbuckers with gold covers. Bridge - 7.11K ohms; Neck - 12.99K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original deluxe hardshell case included.
