Description
Cosmetic Condition: 100% original & in fabulous condition for being 35 years old. This gorgeous guitar is free of any cracks & the top has aged into a mellow golden color. There are some minor nicks & dings along with mild surface scratches & light finish checking, but overall the guitar is in great shape with a beautiful patina. The guitar has been professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing! We've had plenty of '70s Martins over the years & many of them weren't much to write home about in terms of sound quality, but this particular one truly stands out from the crowd. The guitar delivers a rich, organic tone with a huge, boomy sound - very loud & resonant - with beautiful sustain. A real winner & a definite must-have for any player or collector!
Neck: Very comfortable mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Chrome Martin tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fingerboard.
Body: Solid spruce top with 6-ply binding. Ebony bridge with cream end pins. The black pickguard is peeling up just a little bit on the side closest to the bridge, but it's not too bad. The top of this guitar is fabulous, with no dipping or bellying & the bridge is not pulling up either. Solid Indian rosewood sides & 3-piece back with 3-ply binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 10 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
