What makes this bass special: 100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner who kept the bass in immaculate condition over the years. Not only that, but he still had the original sales receipt in the case compartment - now how cool is that! Cosmetic Condition: Very clean for its age with only mild wear - minor nicks & dings along with various surface scratches. Overall the bass looks great & is a true time capsule piece.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with black & white binding & cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Gibson-engraved nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 30 1/2" scale length. There's a little bit of warping in the neck, but the truss rod functions & the bass is quite playable as is. It's probably a safe bet to assume the original owner (who really didn't play it much) kept the bass at full string tension while it was in its case all those years.
Body: Solid maple body with 5-ply black pickguard. Top-loading, 3-point bridge with adjustable saddles. Bass weighs 8 lbs 15.9 oz.
Electronics: Double humbuckers with black covers. Dual volume & master tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '80 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. Case is in great shape & even has its original key! Also included is the original sales receipt & a vintage leather strap.
