Description
What makes this guitar special: This player upgraded piece plays awesome, and has a dynamite neck feel. The V shaped neck is comfortable as can be, and has obviously been well played over the years, with all the right wear, and none of the wrong wear. The frets still have a ton of life in them even through someone clearly played the heck out of this thing. This piece appears to have gone through some transformations over the years, and then put back close to original. The original humbuckers are gone and have been replaced by some unbranded replacements, which appear to be period correct. The guard is unoriginal too, replaced with a WD Custom, no doubt to accommodate the coil splitting mini-toggles, which are much more convenient to use on the fly. All in all, this piece sounds and plays like USA built vintage should, and has been tastefully altered to suit player needs. It comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Pretty good shape for its age, with expected playwear throughout. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, scuffs, and chips throughout, with some visible pickwear on the pickguard. The neck showcases a good ding in the first fret of the fingerboard, and fret edges show visible playwear up and down the length of the fretboard. Neck also appears to have been refretted, and there is a hairline crack on the outer treble side of the neck pocket. The pickups are unoriginal, as are the pickup covers, the pickguard, and the mini-toggles.
Body: Solid alder body in sunburst finish 3-ply cream colored pickguard and string through bridge with individually adjustable saddles.
Weight: 6lb, 3.6oz
Neck: V shaped maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. Maple fingerboard is in good shape with only light wear throughout, though there is one visible dent in the first fret, and fret edges show some staining. 1 5/8” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod works fine. Fender tuners function perfectly. Neck stamp dates to September of ’82.
Electronics: Dual period-correct unoriginal humbuckers with unoriginal pickup covers and individual mini-toggle coil splitters. 3-way white tipped pickup selector switch with skirted white knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone. Pots date to ’82, and all electronics are in working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included. Case is all stickered up and has a good amount of pet hair, but works great.
