Description
What makes this guitar special: 1983 is the first year the Studio was introduced & the very early ones offered a solid alder body, which this particular one has, making it a bit more light weight - less than 8 1/2 lbs. A slender profile neck & a pair of killer sounding humbuckers make this a truly dynamite sounding Studio. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music & ready for action straight out of the case, this black beauty is guaranteed to please!
Cosmetic Condition: This was obviously someone's "go-to" guitar as evidenced by all the heavy play wear - lots of nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & finish wear throughout. This guitar has been well-played & it shows. However, it does have a really cool look to it & there are no breaks or repairs.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show wear, but there's still life in them. Gibson sealed tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions fine.
Body: Solid alder body with black plexi pickguard. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 5.1 oz.
Pickups: Original Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.21K ohms; Neck - 7.19K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '83 & all electronics are in good working condition. The original input jack was a bit worn out so we replaced it with a fresh Switchcraft, but the original is included with the guitar.
Case: Vintage Gibson hardshell case included.
