Description
Made for a brief period around the mid '30s until the early '40s, this ultra cool Model 35 is also known as the Model 32 metal body, not to be confused with the wood body 32. The after-market DeArmond is a nice mod, allowing the guitar to be amplified. Very resonant with a cool, vintage tone & powerful voice, ready to be played straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & finish wear. The guitar has been well-played over the years & it shows - good honest play wear over the last eight decades, but still maintains an authentic vintage vibe with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Chunky V-shaped "roundneck" with unbound rosewood fingerboard & ivoroid dot inlays. Two dots are missing. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Solid headstock with open-back strip tuners. Unoriginal nut with a width of 1 3/4"; 25" scale length. String height is 1/8" at the first fret & 1/4" at the twelfth fret.
Body: Metal body with frosted gold finish. Trapeze tailpiece with split bridge. 11" resonator with spider cone. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11.2 oz.
Electronics: Unoriginal DeArmond pickup in good working condition. An input jack was added to the side of the body.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
