Description
You wouldn't guess by just looking at it, but this slope shoulder beauty produces a really big, powerful sound with a warm, rich tone. McCartney had one from '64 & this one is every bit as cool as his. The previous owner replaced the original adjustable saddle, which is why the guitar sounds so amazing, however, the original saddle is included along with the height adjustments. Professionally set up & ready to play upon arrival, this fabulous Texan is guaranteed to please.
Cosmetic Condition: Really nice shape for being from the mid '60s, showing signs of mild play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish blemishes. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, authentic vintage vibe & shows off a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl parallelogram inlays. Professionally refretted & the frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Elongated headstock with mother of pearl inlay. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, slope shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with rosewood bridge & abalone dot inlays. The original adjustable saddle was removed & a much better sounding bone saddle was put in place, however, the original saddle & adjustment wheels are included with the guitar. Tortoise pickguard with silver E emblem. There's a small chip out of the pickguard near the E. Mahogany back & sides with cream binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 10.8 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
