Description
A wonderful player's grade, true vintage Jazz Bass with tons of ultra cool mojo. Superb tone & playability with a great vibe to it. An excellent bass to take to gigs if you don't want to take out your more expensive models. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of cool wear & tear - a true player's grade dream bass. The original sunburst finish was stripped off down to natural & there are multiple signatures from players all over the body, including some members from Little Feat. Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & finish wear. Overall the bass has a super cool, authentic vibe to it.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots.
The neck has been oversprayed. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Professionally refretted; frets show a tiny bit of wear, but have tons of life in them. Three original open-back tuners; the E tuner is unoriginal with drop D lever. 1 1/2" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck dates to '66.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body stripped down to natural & loaded with a variety of signatures from various artists. Original top-loading bridge with four adjustable saddles. The body was routed under the pickguard for a previously mounted P-Bass pickup & there are some filled holes under the guard as well. Unoriginal 3-ply black pickguard. Bass weighs a delightful 8 lbs 8.9 oz. - lightweight & very resonant.
Electronics: Original Jazz Bass single coils both professionally rewound. Bridge - 8.90K ohms; Neck - 7.08K ohms. Dual volume & master tone controls with original knobs. Both volume pots are unoriginal, however, the tone pot & cap do appear to be original. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal Gator hardshell case included.
