Vintage Fender Mustang Red - 1965

We're sorry. This item is no longer in stock.

An ultra cool second-year Mustang finished in Red & sporting a silky smooth neck that plays great up & down the fretboard. These have always been a favorite here at Cream City Music & thanks to a pro set up from our in-house specialist, it's ready to play straight out of the case.

Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear for a 54-year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear. Overall the guitar looks wonderful & has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe to it with a gorgeous patina.

Neck: Maple neck with gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. However, the D tuner is unoriginal & a portion of the high E tuner shaft is broken off. 1 5/8" nut width; 24" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 8 JUL 65 B.

Body: Offset, solid poplar body finished in Red. Brand new replacement Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece with the original adjustable bridge & "barrel" saddles. Original 3-ply white pearloid pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 4.3 oz.

Electronics: Original grey bottom single coils with black covers. Both pickups date to '65. Master volume & tone controls with black knobs. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included with newer trem arm included.

Why We Love Fender

It's hard to find a name more synonymous with guitars than Fender. Ever since Leo Fender burst onto the scene with his now-iconic Telecaster, Fender guitars have found homes in the hands of brand new guitar players and seasoned rock stars. When the headstock says Fender, you know you're getting a quality instrument.
