Description
Just recently acquired from the original owner who, after owning it for a number of years, needed to replace the neck because it had warped. He received a replacement neck from Fender which has a serial number on the headstock dating to 1977. Despite the mismatched neck & body, they're a tight fit & thanks to a pro set up from the experts here at Cream City Music, the bass plays & sounds terrific!
Cosmetic Condition: Really nice shape considering its age with only minimal play wear - minor nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. Overall the bass has a great look to it with super cool vibe.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Fender open-gear "clover" tuners & round string tree. Headstock decals are clean with no bits missing & the serial number reads S754965. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-tone sunburst. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. 4-ply tortoise pickguard with black tugbar. Bass weighs 9 lbs 7.2 oz.
