Description
Looking for an affordable, true vintage ES-335? Well here's a wonderful player's grade example looking for a new home. Various modifications & a headstock repair allow this one to fit most budgets. Fully inspected & professionally set up so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There was a repair made on the back of the headstock/neck & the area around it was refinished. There are three plugged holes in the top of the body near the controls & jack. There's a patch on the side of the body from a previous output jack. Overall the guitar has a cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Original small frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Unoriginal Kluson Deluxe tuners with double-ring Keystone buttons & conversion bushings added. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, semi-hollow maple body in sunburst finish with dual F-holes. The original trapeze tailpiece was replaced with a Stopbar. ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles & replacement 5-ply black pickguard. The original guard has a couple of holes in it & is included with the guitar. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 15.3 oz.
Electronics: Original Pat No. sticker humbuckers with 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs. Unoriginal CTS pots & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Later-period Gibson hardshell case included. The case shows quite a bit of wear & tear & is missing a couple of clasps, but still functions quite well.
