Description
Just recently acquired from the son of the original owner, this marvelous ES-345 is 100% original & loaded with a pair of highly coveted PAF humbuckers that deliver rich, robust tones! The Stereo Varitone is fully functioning & the silky smooth neck plays perfectly anywhere on the fretboard. Fully inspected & professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some tarnish on the gold hardware. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic, true vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Wide, flat profile, mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons & Stereo truss rod cover. Two of the Keystone buttons were beginning to shrink & deteriorate (one on the bass side & one on the treble side) so we decided to take off all the original tuners & replace them with proper repros so as to not cause further damage. However, all the original tuners are included with the guitar keeping it all original. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-cutaway, semi-hollow maple body with dual F-holes. 3-ply top binding & single-ply back binding. Stopbar tailpiece with ABR-1 bridge. 5-ply black pickguard & gold hardware. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 7.9 oz & is exceptionally resonant!
Electronics: Two Gibson PAF humbuckers with 3-way toggle switch. The neck sticker is still intact, but the bridge sticker is only partially there. Neither of the gold covers have ever been removed. Dual volume & tone controls with black "top hat" reflector knobs. The bridge volume pot has a very slight crackle when turned & the bridge tone pot is slightly stiff, but functions as it should. The Varitone knob turns smoothly & all the electronics are fully functioning.
Case: Original hardshell case included - great shape!
