Description
A magnificent player with an absolutely gorgeous voice that projects exceptionally well. The natural acousticness of the guitar resonates beautifully, although some would argue the real magic lies in the warm, rich tone of the floating neck humbucker. The guitar has been professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds marvelous.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for a 40 plus year old guitar, but does show some signs of mild play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & weather checking. Some sections of binding are missing from the pickguard, but overall the guitar looks wonderful & shows off a nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any. 3-ply bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson & floral inlays. Gibson tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Florentine cutaway, hollow maple body with 7-ply bound oval soundhole, top & back. Chrome trapeze tailpiece with Howard Roberts plaque. Floating ebony bridge with 5-ply bound tortoise pickguard. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 10.6 oz.
Electronics: Floating neck humbucker - 4.16K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with black speed knobs. The volume pot needed to be replaced, however, the original is included with the guitar. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included with unoriginal handle.
