Description
A rather rare cherry sunburst version J-50 with a cool, true vintage vibe. The guitar shows off lots of wonderful character & charm, not only in its appearance, but its voice & playability as well. Delivering a warm, rich, woody tone, the guitar offers hours of enjoyment & is difficult to put down. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so its guaranteed to play great straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are two superficial cracks in the back of the body that were professionally glued by us. The bridge was also professionally reglued by us & the guitar is in wonderful playing condition. Overall it has an ultra cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Open-back tuners with chrome hardware. The D & G tuners tend to go a bit loose after tuning down & require being tuned back up to pitch to keep the tuning pegs tight & prevent them from vibrating, but they do function. The D tuner is also slightly bent, but does also function properly. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works just fine.
Body: Double-bound, round shoulder dreadnought finished in a rare Cherry Sunburst finish - most J-50's are natural finish. There's cherry finish on both sides of the fingerboard as it extends over the body. Solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides. Rosewood bridge with adjustable saddle & cream bridge pins. Large, tortoise plexi pickguard & multi-ring rosette. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 6 oz.
Case: Modern Gibson hardshell case included.
