Description
The 1996 Gibson The Paul II in Ebony is a stripped-down Les Paul variant that focuses on the essentials; mahogany construction, dual humbuckers, and a straightforward control layout. Compared to many Les Paul models of the era, it keeps the weight manageable while still delivering the familiar feel of a set-neck Gibson. This is very much a player's guitar, showing honest wear from years of use rather than time spent in a case.
Loaded with a Gibson 490R in the neck and a 498T in the bridge, it covers the classic Gibson humbucker territory with plenty of output on tap. It has been professionally inspected and set up.
Cosmetic Condition:
Player-grade condition with noticeable wear throughout. There are scratches, dings, and small divots across the body and neck consistent with years of regular use. Only a few spots of exposed wood noted. The G tuner key is bent, but the tuner functions properly.
Neck:
Mahogany set neck with a 24.75" scale length. Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and 22 frets showing a little playwear. Chrome tuning machines. Neck is straight, truss rod functions properly.
Body:
Solid mahogany body in Ebony finish with carved top. Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. Chrome hardware. It weighs 7lbs and 8oz.
