Description
More and more we're finding newer, high-end acoustic guitar makers guilty of producing instruments that are, "all show and no go." Whether it's tone woods being sourced from old-growth forests, the magic of aging, or the bygone builders with know-how that's been lost or forgotten over the years, these older acoustics really are in a league of their own. Here's a wonderful example of a dreadnought with tasteful aesthetic appointments that don't cross into gaudy. Great projection, clarity & single note definition are the hallmarks of true sound. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical play wear for its age with no real significant stand outs - the usual minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear - particularly around the sound hole & just below the pickguard from heavy strumming. The back of the bridge is lifting up a bit, but is still quite firmly attached to the top. Let's face it - this one is a tone monster & was well played!
Neck: Mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Mother of pearl Guild & Chesterfield headstock inlays. Sealed tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top & 5-ply binding. Rosewood bridge with compensated saddle. Tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 13.3 oz.
Case: Vintage Guild hardshell case included, which also shows some wear & tear.
