Description

More and more we're finding newer, high-end acoustic guitar makers guilty of producing instruments that are "all show and no go." Whether it's tone woods being sourced from old-growth forests, magic of aging or the bygone builders with know-how that's been lost or forgotten over the years, these older acoustics really are in a league of their own. Here's a wonderful example of a dreadnought with tasteful aesthetic appointments that don't cross into gaudy. Great projection, clarity and single note definition are the hallmarks of true sound. Professionally set up and ready for action straight out of the case!

Cosmetic Condition: Fairly mild play wear considering its age - various tiny nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a cool vintage vibe & beautiful patina.

Neck: Mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Mother of pearl Guild & Chesterfield headstock inlays. Sealed tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine, however, there really is no more room on the saddle so the action is not super low. String height at the 12th fret is about 3/16" - medium action, but definitely very playable & not really an issue for many players.

Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top & 5-ply binding. Rosewood bridge with cream end pins. Tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 15.4 oz.

Case: Original hardshell case included. The Guild logo came unglued & is inside the case compartment.
