Description
A wonderful player's grade M80 made in Westerly, RI. This true vintage beauty was refinished black quite some time ago & the original pickups were swapped to Seymour Duncans. It's a dynamite player offering exquisite tone. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it's ready to rock straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Originally sunburst finish, the guitar was refinished in black back in the '90s. There are various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. There are chatter marks/chipping in the finish along both sides of the neck starting at the nut & extending to about the second fret. There is no headstock break, so these appear to be superficial stress cracks along the neck. Overall the guitar has a cool look to it with a great vibe.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with white binding & black side-dots. The binding was redone probably when the guitar was refinished. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Mother of pearl Guild & Chesterfield headstock inlays. Guild diecast tuners in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-cutaway, solid mahogany body with top binding. Stop tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge. 5-ply black pickguard & chrome hardware. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 7.1 oz.
Electronics: Unoriginal Seymour Duncan humbuckers with black bezels. Dual volume & tone controls along with a 4-way varitone control. 3-way toggle & 2-way mini phase switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
