Description
Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe on a super rare guitar. This lovely parlor was well played & has the wear to show it - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & finish wear. A section of the top binding is missing along the lower bout, bass side. There's about a 13" crack along the lower bout bass side that was amateurly repaired - the glue sealant is very goopy. There are some small circle indentations in the back of the neck - perhaps from a capo. Despite it's less than stellar cosmetic condition, the tone woods used in its construction are absolutely gorgeous - beautiful Brazilian rosewood back & sides with some really nice variegation in the wood. The spruce top has nice, wide grain patterns with a wonderful patina. Overall the guitar has a great look to it & offers a sweet, rich tone.
Neck: Chunky V-shaped mahogany neck with bound, slotted headstock. Ebony fingerboard with ivoroid binding. Mother of pearl diamond & dot inlays. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Strip tuners in good working condition, although the B & high E buttons are cracked & needed to be "bandaged". They work fine though. 1 15/16" bone nut; 25 1/2" scale length.
Body: Parlor size acoustic with solid spruce top. Ivoroid binding & unique-design purfling. Ebony bridge & end pins with mother of pearl diamond inlays & bone saddle. Bound soundhole with abalone rosette. X-bracing with no cracks or breaks. Maple bridge plate is very clean looking with no cracks or breaks. Solid Brazilian rosewood back & sides with ivoroid binding. 14 3/4" lower bout width; 10 1/2" upper bout width; 4" depth. Guitar weighs
Playability / Sound: The action down near the first few frets is low & the guitar is easily playable. The action rises as you move up the neck & the string height at the 12th fret is about 1/4". This is actually quite typical of guitar from this period. The guitar has rich, punchy tone & is quite resonant.
Case: Unoriginal Ibanez hardshell case included.
