Description
What makes this guitar special: A really well worn, well played J-50 displaying some truly ultra cool vintage mojo. Despite its less than perfect condition, this gorgeous slope shoulder dreadnought has an amazing voice, projecting warm, rich, woody tones. This guitar is really fun to play & difficult to put down. She's a keeper & deserves a good home.
Cosmetic Condition: This one was obviously someone's go-to guitar & it shows, with lots of good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some very heavy play wear in the top that has worn down to bare wood in a few spots. All of this lends to the original vintage charm of the guitar which has a great look overall & a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners are in good working condition. The D & G tuners are slightly bent, but still function properly. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Round shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top & 3-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle. Large tortoise plexi pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany sides & back with single-ply binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 8.7 oz.
Case: Vintage Gibson hardshell case included. The case is a bit whipped with a wire handle, but it's very sturdy & serves its purpose well.
