Cosmetic Condition: A very clean 42 year old instrument. Aside from finish checking around the entire guitar, there virtually is not a scratch to be found, and aside from the tuning machines looking a bit dulled, even the hardware looks shiny and new!
Neck: A full-medium sized one piece maple neck with a great vintage tint features a walnut “skunk stripe” down the back and Music Man tuning machines with a true patina. The fingerboard has 22 frets in excellent condition and tons of life left in them, black dot inlays, and black side dot markers. The nut is 1 11/16ths” and the guitar has a 25 ½” overall scale length.
Body: A comfortable, curvy, and well rounded-over ash body houses new looking chrome hardware and features a multi ply black pickguard. The guitar has a total weight of 8lbs 14.9oz.
Electronics: The unusual electronics are as follows: The four way rotating switch selects neck humbucker, both humbuckers, bridge humbucker, bridge humbucker split to a single coil. The black switch is a treble boost, and the knurled chrome knobs are a master volume, treble, and bass control. You’ll have a lot of fun trying out all the great sounds this Sting Ray has to offer!
