Description

Description: Vintage Oak Parlor Acoustic Guitar

Condition: Good overall. This is a very unique guitar with an awesome vintage vibe! Various surface scratches, nicks, dings, weather checking and some binding repairs. There is a crack in the upper bass side bout and separation in the center seam on the top. String tension has caused some bellying of the top around the sound hole. No loose or missing braces. There is a very small amount of separation at the neck heel only visible when pressure is applied. A neck reset may be required. There is also a slight bow in the neck when tuned to pitch. Therefore the neck may benefit from a heat press. Fingerboard has some cracks but is playable, frets have some play wear and will need some work but have life left in them. Tuners are unoriginal though are in good working condition; one of the buttons is bent slightly.

Body: Double bound body with spruce top and solid oak back and sides with amazing figuring in natural finish. Multiple wood inlays around top and back binding, nickel tailpiece, Ebony bridge with nickel saddle and bound sound hole with a multiple wood inlay rosette. Lower bout: 12 ¾” wide x 3 11/16” deep. Upper bout: 9 ¼” wide x 3 3/16” deep.

Neck: “V” shaped mahogany neck with ebonized maple fingerboard, fancy pearloid inlays and a 1 13/16” nut. Slotted peg head with three-on-a-strip tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24” scale length.

Playability/Sound: This is a very unique guitar given that the sides and back are made from solid oak. There is plenty of midrange in the tone and the neck, though in need of some work is very comfortable. This is the first acoustic parlor guitar made from oak we have had in the shop. Rare piece!

Case: does not include case.
