Description
Acquired from the family of the original owner, this pre-war beauty has a punchy midrange voice with a sweet chimey high end & marvelous bass response. The all solid mahogany body has opened up beautifully & responds very nicely to finger style, even holding up to flat-picking. It's in terrific shape for its age too, with no cracks or breaks. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music, it will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good shape for being 85 years old with some standard wear & tear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips & scuffs present, with areas of finish wear & finish checking. There are a handful of scratches in the wood that were amateurly touched up with clear coat at some point as well. The bridge, saddle & end pins are unoriginal, but the internal bracing & bridge plate are original. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, true vintage vibe to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, solid mahogany neck that starts as a C-shape and trends toward a soft-V as you near the upper register. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with cream dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with some mild wear & tons of life in them. Rosewood headstock overlay with gold CF Martin logo and open gear tuners with white buttons. 1 3/4" nut width, 24 7/8" scale length.
Body: Solid mahogany top, back & sides. Unoriginal rosewood bridge with bone saddle & black bridge pins with abalone dot inlays. Original tortoise pickguard & two-ring rosette. 13 1/2" lower bout width; 10" upper bout width; 4 1/4" depth. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 3 lbs 7.5 oz.
Case: Unoriginal, Deluxe Guardian hard shell case included. Case is brand new and fits like a glove.
