Description
A marvelous player with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe! The bird's eye figuring in the back of the body is absolutely gorgeous & the guitar has a beautiful, natural acoustic resonance even before you plug it in! But once you do, look out! The Ric "toaster tops" sound fantastic & deliver rich, bell-like tones that seem to chime for days. Professionally set up & inspected by the experts at Cream City Music, so she's ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear for a guitar that's over 50 years old! There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & weather checking. There are deeper lacquer cracks in the back of the headstock & a superficial crack over the neck heel. The neck heel crack is definitely in the surface of the wood, but is quite stable with no movement. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple & walnut neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with crushed pearloid "triangle" inlays. Frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods work fine.
Body: Semi-hollow maple body with bound "slash" hole & checkered back binding. Original tremolo tailpiece & adjustable bridge with roller saddles. Original bridge cover is included. Split-level white pickguard & Fireglo finish. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 8.8 oz.
Electronics: Three Ric '"toaster top" single coils; dual volume & tone controls with boost blend; mono & stereo outputs. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The spring on the right side latch is loose, but the latch still closes.
