Description

An ultra cool, true vintage beauty with a great vibe & superb playability. The original bridge was replaced with a Bad Ass. Low action & killer tone ensure this gorgeous 4001 will live on in the hands of its next owner. Don't miss out on great opportunity to pick up a wonderful piece of Rickenbacker history.

Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear - Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, buckle rash & some finish wear. A previous owner scratched an 8-digit number into the back of the headstock. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.

Neck: Slender profile maple & walnut neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl "shark tooth" inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Open-back nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 33 1/2" scale length.

Body: Neck-thru design with solid maple wings. Unoriginal Bad Ass bridge with adjustable saddles. Single-ply white plexi pickguard. Bass weighs 9 lbs 4.3 oz.

Pickups: Rickenbacker Hi Gain single coils. Dual volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch; mono & stereo outputs. Pots date to '76 & all electronics are in good working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included.
