Description

A superb sounding, true vintage 4001 with classic looks & a smooth, comfortable feel. Recently acquired from the family of the original owner. The neck feels fantastic & plays like a dream anywhere on the fretboard. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to perform upon arrival.

Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches. Some type of cleaning solvent was used on the back of the body that has damaged the finish, creating a chemical burn & dulling it.

Neck: Maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl triangle inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Nickel open-back "clover" tuners turn smoothly. 1 11/16" nut width; 33 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rods work great.

Body: Neck-thru design with solid maple wings & top binding. Top-loading bridge with adjustable saddles & single-ply white plexi pickguard. Bass weighs 9 lbs 5.6 oz.

Electronics: Rickenbacker Hi Gain single coils with 3-way toggle switch. The bridge pickup is missing its chrome cover. Dual volume & tone controls. Mono & stereo outputs. Pots date to '77 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included.
