Description
The Yamaha FGX3 Red Label Dreadnought is a great fit for players who want a vintage-inspired acoustic-electric with modern reliability. It works well for strummers and flatpickers thanks to its big, full low end, but fingerstyle players will also appreciate the balance across the register. Modeled after Yamaha's 1960s Red Label acoustics, the FGX3 keeps that heritage look and feel while adding features that make it stage-ready and more consistent than the originals.
This model uses an all-solid build with Sitka spruce on top and mahogany for the back and sides. The spruce is treated with Yamaha's A.R.E. process, which accelerates the aging of the wood for a tone that feels already broken-in. Updated scalloped bracing helps the guitar speak louder and with more clarity. For live performance, the Atmosfeel system gives you a natural plugged-in sound with simple, intuitive controls, blending piezo, mic, and soundboard sensors for a three-dimensional acoustic voice.
Playability is smooth and dependable, with an ebony fingerboard and bridge, a comfortable 25" scale, and a 1.75" nut width that strikes a nice middle ground for both chords and fingerpicking. The semi-gloss finish feels sleek and the Gotoh open-gear tuners keep things stable. It ships with a softshell case, making it gig-ready right out of the box. We think it's one of those guitars that gives you the best of both worlds-classic Yamaha tone with modern durability.
