This is Boss’s new Waza Craft version of their highly popular MT-2 Metal Zone pedal. As the name implies, the Boss Metal Zone MT-2w is perfect for heavily distorted, super saturated playing akin to metal. Some of the upgrades you’ll notice in the Waza Craft version are all-analog circuitry, a premium buffered bypass, and the addition of a mode switch that. You can choose between Standard and Custom modes for expanded tonal possibilities. The MT-2w will make your leads squeal and your rhythms chug with plenty of dirt, but also with plenty of clarity, thanks to its built-in EQ controls. Besides knobs for Distortion and Level, the inner two equalizer knobs control highs, lows, mid range, and mid range frequency. It is absolutely necessary to dial in the EQ just right on this pedal, because it is simmering with distortion. If you want a distortion that goes to extreme lengths in bringing you a metal-friendly sound, then the MT-2w is the pedal for you.
