Roland's RE-201 Space Echo changed the musical landscape of the '70s, offering distinctive rhythmic echo sounds, a rich, warm character, and highly musical sonic quirks. The all-new Boss RE-2 delivers the same magic as the RE-201 in a pedalboard-friendly footprint, making it the ideal reverb pedal for vintage tone purists.

Boss programmed the RE-2 to perfectly recreate the complex, unpredictable sounds of the RE-201. Thanks to its internal algorithms that emulate the RE-201's tape path, record/playback mechanism, preamp coloration, spring reverb character, and more, the RE-2 nails that coveted old-school echo tone without fail.

Despite its compact size and simple interface, the RE-2 has tons of sonic versatility under the hood. With an 11-position mode selector onboard, users can choose between several top-notch virtual tape heads with or without spring reverb. Once a mode has been selected, users can blend in the echo and reverb effects to their liking using the two independent level knobs.

Players will particularly love the RE-2's Intensity and Tone knobs, which can be used to conjure up anything from subtle echos to thick walls of cavernous reverb. For those looking to instill some vintage charm into their signal, don't worry - the Repeat Rate and Wow & Flutter controls enable all sorts of musical eccentricities, such as gradual pitch changes and natural modulations. And for those who prefer a primarily dry sound, the RE-2 allows users to choose between a clean setting with zero processing and a RE-201 preamp emulation that adds richness and warmth.

Complete with footswitch and expression pedal compatibility, the Boss RE-2 is an incredibly versatile pedal that excels at recreating classic echo sounds, making it an excellent choice for studio players, gigging professionals, and RE-201 enthusiasts alike.
