Caroline Guitar Company Aaron Graves Overdrive Pedal is a versatile drive and preamp inspired by the sounds and community spirit of Aaron Graves, musician and founder of Fork & Spoon Records. At first glance it looks like a straightforward overdrive, but there is a lot more range here than the compact layout suggests. Built around Caroline's beloved preamp voicing from pedals like the Parabola and Météore, the Aaron Graves can push a clean amp into rich breakup, add size and harmonic depth to smaller amps, or tighten and enhance an already driven setup.
The drive structure gives you two distinct personalities to work with. One side leans into a more compressed, crunchy preamp-style overdrive, while the alternate voicing opens things up with a response that feels more like power amp clipping. Caroline also added a second gain stage to better balance the two drive styles and expanded the low-end shaping with a dedicated bass voicing selector. That makes this pedal especially useful for players using humbuckers, neck pickups, or studio setups where controlling low-end response matters. The Hair control adjusts the amount of drive and saturation available, while the Tone and Level controls make it easy to dial in everything from edge-of-breakup texture to thicker, more aggressive gain sounds.
Despite the deeper feature set, the Aaron Graves stays easy to use and pedalboard friendly. The smaller enclosure, soft-touch true bypass switching, and straightforward control layout make it approachable whether you are stacking drives, using it as a foundational always-on preamp, or pushing an amp harder for leads and heavier rhythm tones.
