The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Jr MOSFET Mod Overdrive Pedal takes the familiar Plumes formula, shrinks the footprint, and adds a new MOSFET clipping option for players who want a tighter, more modern drive sound. You still get the Gain, Tone, and Level controls that make the original Plumes easy to dial in, along with three clipping modes. L uses symmetrical LED clipping for a crunchy, compressed, and articulate response, while N removes the clipping for a more open OpAmp drive that works well as a clean boost.

The big change is M mode, which uses MOSFET clipping for a harmonically rich, focused overdrive with more low end and a dynamic response inspired by modern high-gain tube amps. That gives the Plumes Jr a useful extra gear when the traditional mid-forward drive sound needs more weight and authority. The Tone control remains usable across its range, moving from bigger lows through the familiar mid-focused character and into a brighter, cutting top end.

With its smaller enclosure, mechanical true bypass switching, and standard 9V power requirements, the Plumes Jr MOSFET Mod is an easy fit on a crowded board. We like it for players who already understand what a Plumes-style overdrive does well but want a more compact version with an additional clipping voice that can push a higher-gain rig without getting loose.
