Description
The Epiphone Prophecy SG in Crimson Fog Satin takes the familiar SG platform and rebuilds it around modern speed, comfort, and tonal flexibility. Its mahogany SG Modern body is topped with maple and a highly figured flamed maple veneer, while the satin Crimson Fog finish and black hardware give it a darker, contemporary look. Built for players working in heavier styles, it combines a longer 25.5" scale, fast neck geometry, stainless steel frets, and multi-voice Fishman Fluence electronics in a guitar that still keeps the lightweight feel and upper-fret access players expect from an SG.
The thermally aged one-piece maple neck is reinforced with graphite rods and shaped to Epiphone's HyperGlide profile for a fast, stable feel. A bound ebony fingerboard with a 10" to 14" compound radius and 24 stainless steel frets provides a smooth, durable playing surface for rhythm and lead work, while the extended 25.5" scale adds useful tension and clarity for lower tunings. Black mother-of-pearl block inlays and the multi-ply bound Custom-style headstock give the guitar a more refined appearance without taking away from its performance-focused design.
Custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups provide three distinct tonal voices through push/pull master volume and tone controls, including high-output modern active humbucker tones, vintage-inspired Patent Applied For-style humbucker character, and clear single-coil-style articulation. Locking Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Graph Tech nut, LockTone Modern bridge, and string-through tailpiece provide dependable tuning stability and sustain for regular stage and studio use. We think the Crimson Fog Satin Prophecy SG is a strong choice for players who want the fast access and balance of an SG with a much more modern feature set.
