The Fuzzlord Riff God Distortion Pedal brings the preamp character of the vintage Randall RG100 into a compact pedal built for the heavy, immediate response associated with 1990s sludge metal. Rather than approaching the idea like a conventional distortion box, Fuzzlord recreated the RG100-style solid-state gain structure to deliver tight attack, substantial low end, aggressive mids, and plenty of saturation. If you're trying to get that blunt, high-headroom solid-state sound without adding another amp to your rig, the Riff God puts that voice directly on your pedalboard.
Gain takes the circuit from gritty drive into saturated sludge, while the three-band EQ gives you direct control over the low end, midrange, and high-frequency bite. The separate Presence control works independently from Treble, so you can change the upper-end attack and articulation without completely reshaping the core EQ. There's also a switchable boost designed to recreate the sound of pushing an RG100 from the front. Leave it on for a tighter, more aggressive boosted sound, or switch it off and experiment with your own overdrive, boost, or distortion ahead of the Riff God.
Relay-based true bypass soft switching keeps operation quiet and straightforward, while the 55mA current draw makes the Riff God easy to accommodate on most isolated pedalboard power supplies. We think this one fills a pretty specific gap. If your heavy tones tend to come from tube-amp-style distortion pedals but you're after the harder attack and different low-end response of a classic solid-state preamp, the Riff God gives you a distinctly different foundation to build around.
