The Synergy Steve Vai Signature Preamp Module was developed in collaboration with Steve Vai to deliver the versatile tones he relies on for everything from pristine cleans to soaring lead work. As the first artist signature module in the Synergy lineup, it reflects months of refinement to capture the dynamic response, harmonic richness, and expressive feel required by one of the world's most accomplished guitarists. Whether you're chasing articulate clean tones, fluid fusion leads, or high-gain rock sounds, this module offers exceptional flexibility. As with all Synergy modules, a compatible Synergy amplifier or preamp dock is required for operation.
Powered by two 12AX7 preamp tubes, the VAI module features two fully independent channels. The Blue channel covers sparkling cleans through edge-of-breakup tones with dedicated Gain, Volume, 3-Band EQ, plus Fat and Bright switches for additional shaping. The Red channel moves into saturated overdrive and singing lead territory with its own Gain, Volume, 3-Band EQ, along with Bright and Boost switches for added presence and sustain. A three-position Cathode Select switch allows players to fine-tune the input response and feel, while the Dual/Single compatibility switch ensures operation with both current Synergy systems and select legacy Egnater and Randall modular products.
