This Pre-Fender 6138 is a faithful reproduction of the famous rectangular guitar Gretsch built especially for him in 1958. Its features include a striking semi-hollow body, rock maple neck, ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, 1957-style headstock, dual High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbuckers, Adjusto-Matic bridge, G-Cutout tailpiece, gold hardware and special Bo Diddley signature truss rod cover. Professionally set up & ready to rock straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent conditon for being over 20 years old! Great shape with various surface scratches, but very clean for the most part.
Neck: Soft V-shaped maple neck with white side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Gretsch diecast tuners work perfectly. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Rectangle body with black & white binding on the top & back. Chambered mahogany body with maple top. "G" Cutout tailpiece & Adjustomatic bridge with gold hardware. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 2.1 oz.
Electronics: Gretsch FilterTron humbuckers with gold bezels & 3-way toggle switch. Master volume & tone controls. Individual pickup volume controls, all with "G" Arrow knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with gold strap locks & the original Gretsch screw-in strap buttons.
