Description
The Synergy Preamp Module - RD British High Gain is an all-tube module built for players who want two different flavors of British high gain available from the same rig. Each of its two fully independent channels can be set to either ROCK or DARK mode, so you can build complementary rhythm and lead sounds or treat the RD like two separate preamps. ROCK is the tighter, more articulate side of the equation, covering muscular crunch through saturated lead tones with a strong midrange presence. DARK shifts toward a thicker, heavier response with more low end and compression for modern metal, doom textures, and sustaining leads.
Both channels give you independent Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Volume controls along with their own three-position Bright switches. The three-position Cathode Select goes a step deeper by changing how much low end reaches the gain stages. Position 1 is the fullest and loosest with a softer attack and more bloom, Position 2 is the factory setting and tightens the low end for more focused high-gain riffing, and Position 3 splits the difference with added body while remaining more controlled than Position 1. With two 12AX7 tubes handling the preamp duties, the RD is designed around the response and harmonic behavior of an all-tube gain structure.
The RD works with Synergy preamp docks, SYN Series amplifiers, and compatible modular preamp systems, making it easy to add these British high-gain voices to an existing Synergy setup. We especially like the independent channel architecture here. You aren't choosing one version of the RD and committing to it; you can keep a tight ROCK rhythm sound ready on one channel and a darker, more saturated lead voice on the other, or configure both however your rig needs them.
